I can't lay my hands on it. I went to the pile of stuff I've put aside for myself and it's a bit embarrassing. WTH! I couldn't wear all of that if the event lasted a month. It will resurface in a couple of weeks when I get rid of 20 or 30 bins. Maybe it's in the attic with the Halloween. I'm working for the next couple of days but I'll find it and show you the components up close. I love that poodle. It was so easy to make and such a hit with the kids. The only drawback is...if I stuff the poofs around my ankles too much I can't put my feet together.

I know. I'm a sew and sew. I REALLY enjoy making stuff for burning man. Last year I decided to do it in a big way and this year it got out of hand. It'll be fun to see how many items I ended up with. I'll look for that poodle in the attic.

I was cleaning up my front room by sewing, ripping and fringing. These things aren't 'world class' but at least I can get em off the couch now.

Weird little house on the prairie. I sewed miles of lace on a fleece shrug. You sure can't tell from the picture but it's actually kinda cool.

This extra long curtain valance made a quick and easy bustle. I suppose I could also wear it as a skirt.

Some valances naturally look like kilts. I got 3 of these for $1 and slipped them onto belts.

I'm so happy with the way this vest came out. It was a tiny ladies coat. Now it's a totally adjustable man's vest. (It's a gift for a teenage boy I camp near.)

I made the side panels way to wide so I laced some shoe laces through the fabric and it added some pizzazz to the finished garment.

All your stuff is all kinds of awesome Ratty! I am so inspired by you! I really want to make some skirts out of belts the way you do. They look awesome! And your bustles are amazing!! Everyone's stuff looks great... I really love this thread

I got this sheer corset at a consignment store for $15 and had a pink furry leg warmer that I couldn't find the match for, so I cut it up and added fur to two of the front panels and the ta-tas. Then I hung a broken bracelet on one side (GOD I LOVE BROKEN JEWELRY). I'm still not fully satisfied, I think I'm going to add some crystals, but its a start!

These were SO easy to make and really fun! What to do with boring old work pants... turn them into shorts and leggies!!! I just cut them, hemmed them and added some elastic in the tops of the legs.

A $7 thrift-store jean jacket and some puffy foam letters I had left over from something else.
Meant to "butch up" my tutu. Probably not going to be very effective at that.

(Lesson learned: Sewing through glue isn't a nice thing to do to your machine. It also unsticks the glue).

posted this over in another thread. But here is some more stuff I did yesterday.
It is part of my tutu tuesday "costume" for my take on queen of hearts. Put lights and new elastic on my wings (not for tutu tuesday)
made a new shirt out of a bra, and made a bustle. Still have to make one of those ruffle things for your neck and it will be done. Then moving onto my steam punk cat outfit. Trying to make things interchangeable so i dont have to bring as much.

love everything that has been happening here.

Katiebaby - my friend made a pair like that. He added lace at the bottom of the shorts and also a strip of red velvet fabric that connected the shorts to the top of the leggies. I ♥ them and was going to also convert some of my own work pants. I've not used them in ages as I tend to lean more towards skirts for work now so this is an amazing upcycle!

@ Lazerfox - I love the idea of adding more embellishments, I think I'm going to do that! I really like the idea of having a connecting piece of fabric because they do tend to fall down when I'm dancing, skipping, running or just frolicking in general

Maybe pick up some garter clips from the "notions" section of the fabric store. You could use elastic, ribbon, upholstery trim . . .
