I didn't say you should get one. If you're responcible, and your partner is okay with it, no issue. (Pun intended?) In a horribly over-crowded world we need as many forms of birth control as possible. Denouncing one so broadly and with a value-laden word like "evil" is problematic.

No, sexual was not the only kind of abuse the Catholic Church dished out to the child in its care.

This w/b my 8th Burn. Every year I've gone in a big RV...big enough to provide sleeping space for 6-8 people. Every year I have pitched my own tent. I have been the organizer of 6 of the 8 trips. I strongly encourage each person to bring their own tent and bedding and use that as their personal space from which to escape the noise and crowding in the RV. We all pay an equal share. I consider it more beneficial to have my own private chill/sleeping space than to put up with the close confines of the RV interior when I want to rest, store my gear, make love, and change clothes/costumes. How can you possibly expect to be given a proportionate rate because you're not sleeping in the RV, but using every other feature?

The RV provides an excellent shelter for getting out of the noonday sun, preparing a meal, hosting guests, grabbing a fudgecicle outta the freezer, quick shower. In my view I don't care about sleeping inside...I prefer outside. And the riders that have traveled with me generally agree.

So, back out and live out of a tent, or sleep outside and use the RV for all of the above reasons.

Friends are the people you're not afraid to resolve issues with, even when it explicitly entails an initial fight and lots of unnecessary, uncalled for verbal crap being thrown.
Friends value each other's money and emotional health.
Worst case scenario you will fight and will feel like crap, but it will only last a few of hours, then you'll make up. You're friends, right?
You deserve an emotionally positive burn and a homey home that fits your budget and your expectations.

If it's any consolation, I already had a medium-sized fight with my campmates, because, in short, I needed to adjust my logistics, and my change affects the camp's logistics (because I'm in charge), so they burst into flames at the prospect of my change affecting _their_ logistics. I only asked for help... and got a response that simplifies into "we don't want to change our plans to accomodate your change, find another solution". So whatever, I'll find another solution. It is my own fault that I changed my plans anyways.
Then we had another medium-sized fight over the fact that the shade structure we hoped would be ok is unsuited and unsafe.

They seem to be disappointed in me, but I can understand that since I also felt it was late in the game to back out. Mr. SP said this will cause him financial hardship because he will now probably have to cover my "share." I'm not taking that to heart because, as many people have pointed out to me, they still have time to get another person in on the RV if cost is that much of a concern. Plus, if they do try and are unable to it might enlighten them about their rules and behavior not being acceptable to most people.

I actually will be seeing Mr. SP in person today. I have been doing sewing work for him making him custom pieces and we need to do a fitting. So this afternoon could be interesting. It'll just be him and not Mrs. SP, at least to my knowledge.

Yep. An RV share in general is an attractive thing, and lots of folks are seeking it. But many people would keep hunting if this were the choice presented, as your thread proves.

He has actually paid me for the sewing work. $400 and I have already made him bubble fur pants with a matching bubble fur vest, muppet fur shorts, black fur shorts, adding white fur to customize a tux jacket to fit him as well as adding white satin to the lining on the inside and hemming the matching pants, a pink leopard print utilikilt with matching vest, adding black fur trim to two coats, and putting snaps into a strip of elastic and fur sleeves from a coat so the sleeves can be worn on their own without sliding down the arms. I am also making him another utilikilt from rainbow tiger stripe fabric also with matching vest and a super grover costume. I also use thread that I already have and sometimes material I already have in my stash so he doesn't have to buy it. But most of the material he did buy.
