I don't know what your V is and I assume you can climb your dome to install and deinstall. Aluminet is a stretchy shade cloth that is about $.28 a square foot, much cheaper than what you cite. It runs in about 7' widths as manufactured. If you are ordering it, do ASAP. Suppliers like Gothic Arch Greenhouses are slammed near BM.

Sorry, it's a 4V, and yes we can climb on it. The goal is to cut pieces in a way that doesn't require sewing. We found the 4V dome is really made up of 2 types of triangles, AF:DD:FA and DD:DD:DD (see desert domes assembly diagram) Each of these is just under 12' tall, so we would need a material that is 12' wide. I'll look into large rolls of aluminet and see what I come up with. Thanks for your suggestion!

Aluminet and most other shade cloth come in 12' width.
BTW, you dont need to wrap the whole thing. Just figure out the sun azimuth, sunrise, sunset and wrap half of the dome.
US Naval Observatory has all the info you need to figure it all out.
As for the % listed shading, anything over 40% is useful, over 70% is diminishing returns. If you think you need more than 70%, go with plywood.

Aluminet: You can wrap it in strips, overlapping say 6". No need to cut triangles. Because it stretches, it sort of catches on the rough part of the joints, or you can use nylon tie wraps as needed. It's a common dome covering at BM.
