posts, how far apart do they need to be?

Hello chums,

We're going to surround the rearmost area of our camp with snow fence, four feet high.

Someone told me to use t-posts, from home depot. Downsides: green and white-- ugly! $5.25 each-- Not cheap!

Where can I get something good to use for posts, and hopefully something that doesn't require me to have to spend a lot of time making them? I read about bending rebar and candy cane rebar and how you can't hit it into the ground very well and I get pale and weak. :/

About every 15 ft should be enough. May be able to get them cheaper at ranch or vineyard suppliers.

how about just staying in your r.v. the whole time, and pretending you have a fence to keep people out? oh darn. maybe there's a perfectly good reason maybe you have lots of little kids who run around, or maybe you have hazardous things that would hurt people. Maybe you like the color of trash fence, and it is going to be the basis for some very cool interactive art. Maybe it will be like the backyard fence you talk to your neighbors over. Maybe you have a phobia about contagion, or have a contagious situation you want to save people from.

Can I ask, Why do you want to put a fence all around your camp? Do you understand how cool it is to meet other people, like your neighbors in the campground?

Really, it depends on how badly the people you're trying to keep out want in. If your camp looks fun, and a lot of people would be tempted to scale the fence, you might want to put one band of barbed wire around the top of the fence. If you have a generator, motion sensing lights could be helpful.

Elorrum is right. Fences are not set up at this event unless you have a good reason for doing them. I have seen small picket fences with front yard type of motifs very well done with them, usually complete with pink flamingos and wishing wells.
If you are trying to make yourself a private area for your camp, you may consider placing the vehicles in such a way that it makes passing through a bit tricky.
To be clear, setting up a fence perimeter around your camp is considered poor taste and antisocial as far as this festival is concerned.

Not bitter, honest. Usually fences are only used to block off "private" area's for large theme camps (so they have somewhere to keep their things and sleep when they're not giving the rest of us a good time). Fencing in your whole camp says that you don't want to interact with people, and, honestly, this whole event is about interacting with people.

But we have designed a "privy area" along the back and just want to steer people around that. The front and most of the sides will be open. No RV and no segways, but it wouldn't be eplaya without having people ready to paint you with their presumptions and disdain for those who aren't twoo buhnahs.

Good ranch supply will usually sell less per greater quantity. They have spray paint too! You can make em look any way you wish! Typical fence post spacing is 16',,,, what the old-timers called "One Rod".

My answer was going to be "as quick as your web browser and internet speed allows?"

Though, I'm actually interested in this thread because I'm planning to do something similar.
We want a 'white picket fence' look at the front of our camp, and around the out side of our EVAP Pond.
I'm thinking that the back fence will also get some glow paint, or conspicuoty(SP?) tape.

Gonna get a roll or two, lay it out paint it white, then roll it back up. Seems like the lightest, smallest to pack, and cheapest way to get the look we want.
