Where to buy hexayurt panels? Can't find in town. Online!?

So here we are less than 2 months away and I find myself having problems finding thermal or Tuff-R material locally here in las Vegas!!! I'm kinda freaking out. I figured I'd mosey right in and buy the stuff I need. I was looking specifically the kind with metallic/foil outside or inside and out.

It's not in any lowes, home depot, or ace. Anyone know where I can go to get some? Perhaps order it online? Links an or additional info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

The stuff home depot sells is called RMAX, they might have to order it for you. Do a search of their website and you'll find it.

Interesting- I show 5 options for the Rmax, 3rd from left is 1"x4'x8' Thermasheath at $18.30 ea.

Local HD store has R-Max 1/2-----2" range with 1" @ $18.30 ea.

I guess it's based on where your computer is, but home depot carries it, so make them order you some.

The price here shows $19.74.

My high tech friend confirms it's not coming up. I went down to home depot and they had zero rigid insulation. And lowes could order what I needed in bulk order only. I keep striking out. I'll try talking to home depot customer service.....sigh.

What's the alternative? They have a all blue type insulation, I forget what it's called at lowes. That stuff work as well as RMax stuff? Is that foil side really that helpful? I'd assume it was......

Are there any lumber yards in town? Not a biog box store, but a real building materials supply house.

It's a blessing and a curse.

if you can't get the 1" or thicker panels in your area you can always just buy 1/2"+3/4" panels and tape em together that's what I did for mine and it has held up fantastically well. your gonna have to tape around the edges of it anyway so your not wasting any tape just put the two boards together aluminum sides facing outward and just tape around... gives you 25% more insulation than the 1" panels and feels really sturdy. I wouldn't recommend taping two 1/2" panels together tho because it seemed too flimsy when I held them together... the 3/4" is pretty sturdy and with the extra 1/2" panel to reinforce it you'll have a very sturdy wall. you kinda have to do twice the cutting, but if you can't get the right sizes without a huge bulk order of the panels its a really good solution

Did you read the first few posts also, I did & looked at all of the links. I even read that:

The Home Depot here only carries 1/2 & 3/4, so when the 1" & 1 1/2" were not shown I was not surprised or easily shocked

which place in dallas did you find the 1 1/2" panels at? I couldn't find them in stock at any lowes or home depot they all wanted me to bulk order a pallat of 50 of em

I am an Hexayurt newbie about to embark on my first Hexayurt. Hexacomb looks like a great material and much more environmentally friendly. The general problem being that one has to order it in bulk. I have found a site that sells it in a minimum quantity of 40 sheets which will, of course, build 3.33 standard 8' hexayurts. Shipping is claimed to be fast and the cost is reasonable.

Is this indeed a good material to use on the playa? Does anyone here have experience with it?

Anyone within a reasonable distance of Nevada County, CA care to share an order if it is good stuff? It costs slightly less per sheet than R-Max does at my local Home Depot.

Fortunately my local Home Depot has the R-Max in stock if I need it.
