I am planning on bringing my camping hammock this year and will need to set two posts in the playa to support it. My question is how hard is the playa to dig a post hole into with a post hole digger? What steps (other than brute force) would make it easier/possible? I already know about the 6"x2' rule.
Thanks.

It would be very difficult using brute force. I would look into a heavy, large stake that could hold you instead of a post.

Here are the last two hammock threads, merged together:

I'm too jaded to think up a good sig-line. Need more coffee.

Usually no problem, if you're accustomed to using a PHD. I'd still count on using guy lines on the posts, though.

Used a hamock one year..
You can not believe the torque on the end post from sleeping sway in the hamock..
A person is much better off with a hamock frame/stand..
Better bring an extra bed just in case..
