Best way to secure large poles in the playa dust?

This is my first burn, myself and about 10 others are caravaning out. I'm interested in the best ways to make a large closed area with tarps/rebar/wood posts? We have some ideas already, using two cars for support on one side, but i'm interested in free standing shelters.

I am sure there are others, but that is the best I will do in 2 min.

Be sure to bring gloves to protect your hands, I use ratchet straps & 1ft long reebar pieces to secure my shade structure (a 10ftx20ft car port http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4 ... ?locale=en )

Everything I suggest is what works for me, your experience will probably be different.

By buying regular chain link fencing poles at the local hardware store, cutting them to size, and buying fittings, 14mil. HD tarp, and bungee balls from here:

I've come up with a 42'X60' solid shade structure with wind-break for under $1500. Granted, it required many hours measuring, drawing and cutting.

With this setup, it can be as small or large as you wish.
