new tips for an old canvas Woods tent

I am coming to my first burn with and old canvas tent that was made by Woods. It has a four post aluminum frame on the outside.

Was wondering if anyone has experience with these on the playa or has any advice for securing it on the playa.[img][/img]

use the search function to look up rebar in this sub-forum. A lot of people don't think rebar is the answer, but you will find their rebuttals in the rebar threads.
Is it the sort of tent where you can open up the sides? Because opening up the sides and letting the breeze through is kinda nice. MASH 4207 does that with their shade. There are tent threads as well, with more basic information than you asked. They might get you pointed in the right direction.

How strong is it?
Links? Photo?

I used a weak cabin tent by covering it with heavy material.
Bracing and tie downs are more important than the stakes.
Any windbreak helps too.

I used the cover as a spaced shade with great success.
Never opened a window ever.

Should do fine if the canvas isn't rotten. Use military stakes.
