Is camping at Squaw Valley reservoir permitted during B Man?

I'm planning on heading out on Friday the 27th and spending the night at Squaw valley reservoir 17 miles outside of Gerlach on the 447 then getting gas in the morning before heading in with an early entry pass.

I think your talking about Squaw Reseviour? I beleive it's all BLM around there. You take the left fork instead of the Right toward Burning Man.

yep you're right. I have a map on the wall next to my desk and i couldn't find it on there. So i figured it was either really small or the op was making a disparaging remark...my bad. Should've googled. Now i look like an asshole. Oh well not the first time

Not on my regular maps but it does show on my topo maps. I've sent a message to some Gerlach friends asking what they know about it They are back east now but maybe they will respond in the next day or so.

Here is the response from my friends in Gerlach...

Jim, I have seen people camping there, hear of people going there to camp as well. So I would think it is ok. I dont think any permits are needed, but you might check into it with BLM. It might be very crowded that night."

I have been by there many times but never stopped, I do not believe there is a developed campground there, just a place to park, I will be going out to Gerlch next week and will check it out and post what I find out. It looks like a good place to camp before the gates open.

It's called "Squaw Valley Creek Reservoir."
My understanding is it's private property, but, the owners allow camping and fishing. There are no facilities. So no MOOP/leave no trace applies.
There's an unlocked gate that you can gain entrance through...just be sure to close it each time you enter or exit as there maybe livestock grazing. There's also an information sign near the gate. The little lake is on the right as you drive south from the California line
The place was packed this past Memorial Day weekend.
I'm planning to go there for a weekend, before the first snow....there or Pahranagat Lake near Alamo.

I just read on the NDOW web site that they stock the little lake, so, it just might be BLM
