Tuff R hexaurts and ligthning

I know it has been a number of years since there has been major rain or lightning durning Burning man but it is certainly a possibility.

I wonder if all those aluminum covered hexayurts will attract lightning durning a storm?

Should we be installing lightning rods? I really don't want to be fried in my sleep.

Anybody have any advice or experience camping in the tuff r hexayurt during a lightning storm?

I'm totally guessing here, but I'm going to say that there are much taller metallic structures around that would keep us yurters safe...things like Rvs or towers maybe?

Is it likely people will be around outside?

I was going to make a Tuff-R Hexayurt but it dawned on me that Burning Man has fire. So I thought I'd see what happens.

It thankfully does not seem to maintain a flame, but I'm betting in wind it would. If it were struck by lightning, I'd think the aluminum would pop like a fuse and it would catch on fire. Not that you'd be any better off in a nylon tent with fiberglass shock cords.

with enough surface, very thin metals can carry huge amounts of power.
the weak point would be the jump from the dome, to ground, if it wasn't evenly spread out.
