I'm tossing the options around in my mind. The SF event seems to be little more than a dance party.

I think I'll drop in on the Nevada City doins, but only for a few hours in the afternoon. I have some of our New and Improved! Barbie Death Camp oval BRC stickers that I want to donate to the cause. If anyone is there around 3 or so I'll say hi. Not drinking until next Wednesday, but I'll join you in a group grope.

I haven't been to Burnal Equinox in a few years, but it's usually a pretty good time. Plenty of space to ignore, playa art on show, and fun performances (electronic music, live bands, and other performers). Pandorra and I are looking forward to attend, and plan to raise our glass and toast our friends Burnally Equinoxing it up in Reno… several times…

now scarcely be contained in the Black Rock Desert and our experiment
is spilling over into the larger world at an alarming rate. We invite
your imagination to spill over, too! Get in touch with your inner
mad-scientist-art-splicing-
bio-blingy-socio-cultural-reinvention-badass-funtastic-truly-amazing-self
and BRING IT! Your art, your ideas, your creative spark and wild-eyed
passion for what’s possible!

In the spirit of invention and play, mad scientist and inventive
attire of every conceivable kind is encouraged at this celebration;
help bring the playa to SF and embody your own unique
“cross-pollination” of imagination and boundless reality. It’s a
challenging new world and we are going to live and invent it TOGETHER!
So, reunite with old friends and new as part of this marvelous and
evolving community experiment!!! We wouldn’t dream of doing it without

Whether you come as a hive of virtuous honey bees or the dreaded Dr.

"Burnal Equinox Nevada City is ready to fill your burning yearning heart! March 3 2012, noon to 1AM, Miners Foundry Cultural Center, Nevada City.

Burnal Equinox Nevada City will give burners and non-burners alike, a glimpse into the Burning Man event, complete with fire spinning, costumes, live music and mini theme camps. This all day event will feature live music and DJ performances, featuring Albino!, a 10 piece Afro-Funk band from San Francisco.

This all day event will feature live music and DJ performances, fire performances, a Temple Space to share your memories and tributes, a Burnal Boutique Clothing Swap to get you ready for Burning Man (IF you were lucky enough to get a ticket!), chill domes and chill music, fashion shows and mini theme camps. Bring your retired playa gear to gift at the boutique and take what you like, and don’t forget a leather item if you would like Swagmart to brand it! Bring yourself and be yourself. Doors open at 12:00 p.m. and the event continues until 1:00 a.m. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and are $25.00 at the door. Yay Dougly! We can hang out a bit longer than we did at SF Decom.

RedHeaven - I was at the diesel tree in the back yard until 4am last year.
We must not make the same mistake twice and actually meet this year.
The tree won't be there this year, but we are bringing four burn barrels.
Mischief Lab is bringing poofers (that's what they call them), and Jango is bringing his stilt bar.

The fire spinners there last year were the best I have ever seen.
Albino even took an intermission from playing for everyone to go outside to watch them.

I recall thinking that the Foundry barely held everyone last year; that should the event grow this year,
they will have outgrown the Foundry. But it doesn't seem that tickets have sold out yet.

And they changed the vendor area to no selling, since it is not a BM sanctioned event.
Which is kind of a shame as there were so many artisans with one of a kind pieces last year.
Not sure they will have the same motivation to show and display.

Wow that was incredible! It was so great to meet the Not So Ugly D and Ygmir!! I shoulda met more of ya! It was such a burny feeling with the overstimulation and ADD...I feel like it could of gone on all weekend and then maybe I would experience every nook and met everyone! Absolutely the most incredible event I have seen put on here in my 30 years living in this town!!!

Wish we had parties like that here for the equinox.

We had a warm spell and it was in the 40's so I did my best:

Put on my playa clothes.

Put up a bunch of lights.

Blasted music I dislike (Dubstep).

Broke out my box of playa dust to smell.

Ate some crappy food out of a can.

Drank massive quantities of fairly warm PBR.

Spun my Poi for hours.

But It just wasn't the same or even close because it lacked other burners.

Sometimes I really wish I lived on the other coast.
