San Luis Obispo Decompression Party, interested?

Some fine local burners are hosting a Decompression Party in San Luis Obispo on September 27th, sometime after 8:00 pm.

Here is a quote from the email invite:

“Please wear your favorite playa outfit to the party (please wash it first, you nasty freak!) or if you've never been to the playa, please wear what you think would be your favorite playa outfit. If you show up with no costume we will assume you're the undercover cop trying to bust the rest of the burners and you will be sent back to pussy camp!”

Of course, there will be nothing physical burning, just our minds and spirit. Also, if you would like to display any non-pyro art for the party that would be great… we have an empty backyard, minus the playa dust.

Our San Luis Obispo decompression party was damn fun. New and previously owned burners were encouraged to attend the party. We hope to see more new faces in the future.

We had a slide show running with about 500 photos that people contributed from BM 2003. The slide show seemed to amaze those who have not attended BM and for those that did attend this year, I think it made them wet and tingly. How soon the memories do not fade.

There was a bit of fire, Turtle brought a little fire pit to keep us warm outside and later she did a brief fire spin display. The only safe place for spinning was on the neighbor’s driveway, good thing they were out of town… sort of.

We hope to unite more local burners both new & old with these sorts of gatherings throughout the year. Two resources for local year-round information/events are the regional mailing list and the SLOburn web site. So keep in touch or just keep touching.
