!Read Me! Last Minute Ticket Buying/Selling

Postby trilobyte » Tue Aug 23, 2011 9:35 am

Hi - it looks like we're seeing a rise in last-minute cancellations and a bunch more ticket listings being posted. To those who aren't able to go, sorry to hear it. To those still looking for tickets - hooray, your chances are getting better!

  • Ticket Sellers, you must list your tickets at a fixed price (no auctions or "make me an offer" listings please). For faster/better results, your subject line should start with OFFERED: and make sure to include your selling price. You should also specify whether it's a will-call or physical ticket, and if it's a physical ticket let people know what region you're in. Once you've sold your tickets, change your subject line to SOLD: and we'll get the thread closed up for you.
  • Ticket Seekers - use the Magic Button to easily find all the current/open threads with Tickets Offered.
  • Everyone - good luck!

If the tickets you're selling/buying are WILL CALL, see the instructions below (and no, you can not split your will call order up - an order in one person's name transfers to one other person's name regardless of how many tickets are involved).

PARTICIPANT SERVICES wrote:The person you have designated to be able to pick up your tickets MUST have:

  • A letter signed by you, the original ticket holder. This letter MUST state that you have given/sold the tickets to the person now picking them up and have their full name in the letter. Example: I John Doe, sold my two will call tickets to Jane Smith and I'm authorizing her to pick them up.
  • A photocopy of your driver's license and a photocopy of the credit card used to purchase the tickets (you can black out the first set of numbers, just make sure the last 4 numbers can be read). Remember, the full name on the driver's license must be clear. We need to be completely sure that you have given/sold your tickets to the person picking them up.
  • For ONLINE ORDER will call transfer: In addition to what's above, you MUST have the confirmation number.
As always for any will call pick up, the person picking up tickets must have THEIR photo ID as proof of who they are!

I live in Sweden and have a will call ticket for sale ("last minute", I guess by now).

Is there no way I could email you scanned copies of the credit card and driver's license? I guess my other option would be to use a courier service to make sure you get the letter in time.

You would need to scan copies (black out the first 4 numbers of your credit card, but make sure the last 4 are clearly legible), and then you send that info (via email) to the person who's purchasing your tickets along with the letter described in the instructions. The purchaser then prints that and takes it to the gate.

For safety, blank out all but the last 4 digits of the CC#.

Tickets without embossed seal in Venice

Postby strike-anywhere » Thu Aug 25, 2011 1:53 pm

Hello,
I just met with a nice-enough and earnest looking guy in Venice who had two tickets. When I compared them with my others, I noticed they had no embossed center--no photocopy of the man, no nothing so I had to say no. Are there any legitimate tickets in the $320 tier without the embossing?! I am so sad if I let legit tickets fall through my fingers, but In case this was a scam I will publish the last three numbers of each code on the tix: --229, -----9AT and --230, -----N86. If these are actually legit tix, please forgive my paranoia.

I'm still hustling to get the last member of my family out there, so if you are in LA and have an extra please PM me.

Thank you,

P

All legitimate tickets have the embossing (very high quality & crisp) and the foils (with white printing on top of the holographic foil that doesn't scratch off). You made the right decision.
