GIFTED: Friend cant go - Free ticket available... but...

Postby Sgt Pepper » Thu Aug 18, 2011 1:20 pm

Okay this is the deal - a "girl" friend of ours found out she is in fact pregnant, and no I am not the father. She was planning to go to Burning Man, 1st time, but has now decided against it. She received the ticket as a gift and plans to pass it along as a gift to another in need... here is the kicker; must go to Cal State San Bernardino University and be a student. If no one from CSUSB comes fourth, second would be Cal Poly Pomona, again being a student.

We are leaving Tuesday evening and returning Sunday afternoon. She has already paid her fees (food, gas, etc) and wishes to pass this along to the other student too... in return, you must visit with her and go over the highlights of Burning Man and bring back 1 item that reflects the true meaning of BM.

Okay, I am the messenger here and told her I would help her here. So that is the deal for this ticket.

If interested, please contact me at 19201jb gmail

That's a pretty small pool of eligibles. And what will she do with the ticket if nobody from either recipient pool comes forward in time?

If we cant find an owner, we will put it up for auction within our group and use the the money to help with camp. Although we are good with tickets (thank you very much), we have a few who decided at last minute they would like to go - but by then it was sold out.

I must respect her wishes and told her I would honor her request by posting it here and on the CSUSB forum.

The whole college loyalty thing in this country just kills me. You have institutions laughing at you as they suck you dry for money and yet people feel like they "belong" to them, owe their life to them or attach some kind of identity to them.

Just thinking out loud. Carry on. Props to your friend for the gifting :D

Agreed. Not to mention that we live in a modern age with education systems that were built for the industrial revolution. Our method of educating people in our universities is pretty outdated considering modern innovations such as computers and the internet, and how quickly knowledge improves and evolves through these new mediums.

Junglesmacks,
We need to hook up and talk over a beer... I agree with you 100% about our education system. I attended Cal Poly back in 1986 to 1990. This year I decided to go back there and wow... the cost for everything is unreal. Students of today with no money to back them up will graduate owing +50K. This is what they get to look forward to when they jump into the shitty job market???? Oh well, I can go on.... but I agree....

I know this is a long shot but am trying anyway. I am in desperate need of 1 ticket, 2010 was my first year at BM but have been to many regionals , I went solo, camped with a great group of folks I barely knew, explored and danced nonstop by myself, came well prepared and had the most magical, trying, but beautiful humbling experience of my life. I am 28, a single mother of two, am in school full time and doing it on my own. I did not think I would be able to go this year but things have fallen into place and have the time off needed to go. My only catch is Im low on funds and am searching for a gifted ticket. I realize how many others are also looking, I am up for any suggestions or possible trades. PS, I <3 unicorns and booty shaking. If you wana know more about me PM me thanks <3

peace. My name is Arise, this year i did more for burningman then i thought was possible, threw benifit shows for our camp, booked an international line up of djs for our stage, got over 20 new people to come, and helped organize a huge camp, but............ The person that had my ticket is missing in action, or lets just say we broke up and they dont want to be nice.

Sooo...... I would love to have a ticket and would not only tell stories, but paint an amazing painting for you that reflects the burn and the amazing energy there.

if you decide that im the right person for this ticket, I , and a hundreds of people associated with our camp will be eternally grateful and will, shower you with love, mixtapes, and art prints!!!!!

Thanks for your time
