Need a ticket -Looking to teach Vipassana/Insight meditation

Postby nratzan » Mon Aug 15, 2011 8:54 pm

Hello!

Last year was my first year at Burning Man and it was life-changing. This year I want to contribute something personally meaningful and would like to teach vipassana meditation as my contribution to the playa. Vipassana meditation, also called insight meditation, is a central contemplative practice in Buddhism and has been put into practice by many doctors and therapists the world over for treating everything from depression to anxiety. I myself have practiced vipassana for 5 years and have found it to ring true, and so I would like to pass it on to others.

I've found tickets for less than $400 but I am looking for a ticket being sold at face-value to simply go in the spirit of Burning Man's principles. I'm traveling to Burning Man whether I get a ticket or not beforehand. If I don't get in, I'll make do, but I have family and friends there and would be a happy man if I could attend. Regardless, please contact me if you would sell your ticket at face-value. Thank you.

Nice, between. A zeroing in on the issue and very concise summation of what is "off" about it.

I hope to see you participate elsewhere on the board.

Please please please do NOT "travel to Burning Man" without a ticket.

The Gate is going to be crazy enough without people showing up without tickets.

If you don't have a ticket, stay home. There are no miracles in Gerlach, ask the locals.

Oh, on that note- if you do show up in a vehicle that happens to have other people who have their tickets, the entire vehicle & everyone in it will be turned around & sent back to Reno to drop you off. Then they get to travel back to enter- so what's the karma payback for making friends loose 6-8 hours of travel time just so you can... I have no idea what you would get out of that, other than being too self-centered to think outside of your own desires.

If you show up in your own vehicle, you will be sent away. If you try to hang out at Gate, you can be arrested. Period.

Big thank you for the one piece of encouragement from Ugly Dougly and the heads-ups on the situation around Gerlach! Of course I wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone. I'm just making my way with the information I have. Hope to see you on the playa!
