Dear Burning Man,
I really want to go home this year.
It has been an amazing road to you and
I have always known that I would make
it there for Rites of Passage. I have seen
it in my dreams. I guess that's why I decided
it would be okay to procrastinate. I didn't
use the money for booze (for the most part
or shopping sprees,
I swear. I used it for art, music, and my little boy, Kaleb Wayne,
to keep us going this year. When my friends warned
me that the tickets would sell out, i knew I should
figure out a way then, but I let the ball drop. Another
drop in the bucket of lessons to you. I want to have faith
and know that all things work out perfectly, but I feel that
my presence at Rites of Passage is not optional at this point
though the reality of a ticket seems so bleak. So, I'm at your door
in lines with all the others seeking a ticket. I am visualizing it in my
hands right now, feeling the smooth paper and fine long edges with my fingertips,
with relief and gratitude. Love, love, love you for everything,
Including this experience.
PS- I don't live in LA. I live in SLC. If you gift me this ticket I will give you and your spouse the best lap dance you've ever had AND I also make really cool shit, like leather stuffs, fuzzy stuffs and will rock it with you guys on the playa.
