stubhub ?

Postby egos » Sun Aug 14, 2011 3:35 pm

Hello

Sorry if its a double post.
I just see on stubhub that the price decrease. Can you give me your opinion about this site. I read somewhere that the transation via paypal are normally securised for this kind of transactions.

Thanks for your answer.

Paypal is usually the best way. There's info on how to buy a ticket this way, and, if you get ripped off, you can "charge back" and get your money. And Stubhub is usually the reason you couldn't buy a ticket for "regular" price the first time. Ticket got bought up, with no intention of going, just to make YOU pay more for it later. Quite hated in Burnerdom.

Nah, Burner etiquette is usually face value plus shipping, and top price this year was $360. 90-plus percent of tickets sell for that, very few for more than $400. Any higher will likely get angry response posts on eplaya. Someone here MIGHT buy it, though, but you're better off on ebay or Stubhub. But I've planned all year for the trip, bought stuff all year, saved and have the money available, and, as I've said before, I'd rather stay home and party here or go visit friends in LA than help someone make a big profit on this. This ain't Bonaroo or Coachella. I like that fact that it's different and I want it to stay different.

Thx for the advice Mansoon
But my situation is a little special.... I have already hte plane tikets and he is very expensive so.
Anyway, i learn a lot of thing with my travel on eplaya. If the deal with ebay or stubhub is secure via paypal, i think its the only way to sleep and continue the preparation for the burn.

Edit : i discover that you need a US adress for stubhub.... Its not so easy ;)

Edit 2 : the major part of tickets on ebay cant be ship in europe .......

Oh, thought you were a seller. Well, in the end, you have to do what you HAVE to do, and this whole early sellout is a very unfortunate situation, and has caused a lot of problems and injustices that don't normally exist. I held off because, if you buy later, you either fund BMORG at the highest level or you help out some poor fellow Burner who needed to sell their ticket, plus maybe you got a deal, too.

Make sure you set up your payal and DON'T do it as a gift. If you do it the other way, and the tickets are fake, you can at least "Charge Back" to get your money returned. VERIFY you ticket, Landing in Reno, making plans, getting all the way out there and finding out they are FAKE would make me want to nuke the city where the fake-ticket seller lives.

Stubhub is part of Ticketmaster, and is considered a legal 'brokering' service even in states that have laws against scalping. At least as far as TM events are concerned there's a high level of buyer protection, but double check the terms and conditions so you know where you stand before making any purchase.

Not sure if you can "fake" your way around it, or get a friend here to act as a proxy, you use their address for this. There are some on eBay (I hear). And searching various craigslists, especially in states out in the West in the U.S., seem to turn up some. Luck to us all.

Are you saying you bought plane tickets already? Why do people buy plane tickets and reserve RVs without having gotten tickets to BRC?

Why is the sky Blue?
http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/sky_blue.html

Carbon life versus siliconic?
One reason is that silicone bonds (Si - Si) are much weaker than Carbon bonds (C-C) with only half the strength. Whats this mean to you? in a nutshell Carbon molecules can be thousands of atoms long or even millions. You would be hard pressed to find Si molecules with more than 3 silicone atoms. Basically - Carbon is an awesome lego set that fits together to build complex structures. Silicone is a sloppy set of blocks that isnt worth a shit to build complex structures.

Why you pass on this forum so much?
Because you have no life outside the yearning for the playa.

Stubhub is owned by eBay. You are mistaking this for Ticketsnow.com which is owned by ticketmaster.

You're right, Jobi, I stand corrected.

BTW, you can enable the 'bbcode' formatting on your post (and future posts) by editing your post, then scrolling down to the blue box at the bottom of the page. Uncheck the checkbox that says "disable bbcode" and then save/update your message.

Look for someone in europe with will call tickets.

They will have a much harder time selling them in the states, and you're already closer.

Good luck.

Don't forget to try all the regional contacts and email lists, etc.

Egos, are you still unsure about the company or it's services? I think you've got answers and information, and I think you've determined that it's only available to residents of the US & Canada. I think this thread is officially a dead horse, we can all stop beating it now.
