You know, you might want to keep a watch out. Think there was an early sale in December for this year, but it was so flooded I got scared away

Dude, tell me about it. If I can't find tickets this year then the $$$ is going into an envelope and staying there until they go on sale so I know I will have funds.

Ticket prices are generally based on the costs to stage the event and run the organization. I expect them to go up a bit (because prices on everything have been going up lately), but not to ridiculous levels out of the gate.

The org always teeters on the fine line of what is a fair price, what will the market bare, what can their target audience afford. I predict that the tickets for 2012 will be starting at $230 next year and work their way upwards. I also think that there will be more preparation and people will be buying their tickets much earlier than last year. The interesting part of that is that there will be a large number of people flaking out at the last minute and needing to sell their tickets. Next year will have a huge glut of tickets toward August and the scalpers will be screwed.

They'll probably keep it roughly the same, maybe a $10-$20 difference.

Next year = new BLM permit and (hopefully) a new population limit with no concern for sell-out.

If they set the limit high enough to allow for growth (no way there's not room for more at a leave-no-trace event), scalpers for over the top tier prices will just be kidding themselves.
