Ticket prices falling and paying over face

Ticket prices falling and paying over face

Postby The Bruce » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:06 am

Last week Stubhub had tickets posted for over 1,000 each now they are selling for $700. Sounds like people are starting to get nervous about recovering their "investment" Its easy for thoes of us with tickets to tell people not to pay over face for a ticket but imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. Its less then 3 weeks untill the burn and you have no ticket!!!! I hate that people are scalping tickets and I encourage people to hold out as long as possiable beforing paying over face for a ticket, but I want to fucking see you there, and im not gonna hate on you for doing what you need to do to get home. Just my 2 cents, peace :)

Yea, my partner and I are starting to eye eBay tickets... pairs are going for less than $900 today, and we think if we give it another couple of days the price will drop to $800 a pair, at which point we may be compelled to make a purchase. eBay is pretty trustworthy when buying from highly rated sellers, and allows us the freedom to buy outside of our local area. Unless something comes up on craigslist in the next week, eBay is the spot. Ugh.

I really do think some of the eBay scalpers will panic at a certain point, because what a lot of them don't realize is that most people will not search right up until the last day, like concert ticket seekers. Many Burners will give up 1 or 2 weeks out, because some of them will need to start canceling their travel arrangements, cancel the kennel for the dog, etc. And then even if a ticket is made available, 1/2 of them would not be able to go for it.

The smart (and/or lucky) seeker will leave their options open as long as possible, because at the end of the day, no scalper really wants to get stuck with a ticket.

Yup...the mania is dying down...

People are still hitting me up, but all those folks have planned very poorly or had intended not to go, but then were drawn into the collective psychosis of the last 10 days...

Another few days will tell the tale...

Seriously, I think a (small) percentage of ticket seekers just want to go because the event has finally sold out . . . so to them, this means it really must be worth something after all. Crikey.
