Earthcircuit and Burning Man...

Earthcircuit and Burning Man...

Postby andyeverywhere » Mon May 30, 2011 7:48 am

Hello

We, four European explorers left the UK over a year ago, traveled across Russia to Korea and then Canada to the US have just discovered this fantastic event coming up.

It sounds very good! Funds being as low as they are, has anyone suggestions for 4 tickets?

scholarship tickets would have been the thing, but too late for that and low income tickets.

Ticket sales are different this year.
They may be skewed by scalpers and drop drastically, esp if gas goes up.
No one knows yet.

People will be selling tickets they can't use, up to the end of the burn.
You can verify ticket's authenticity until the main office closes.

Many good deals close to the event.

How good this year???

If you have time to get there early, you might find someone needing help that will pay or comp you, on or off the playa, for working.
There are groups paying for help, esp after the event.
B ig projects are underway in reno, sf, l.a.

Re; voltage

I think the two 240 lines are what you want.
A neutral is only used with a ground to derive 120 here, I think.

Ground is ground, though you may hear neutral referred to as ground.

What an exciting journey!
I just made a small donation via paypal because I've
always wanted to do something like what you are doing.
Should be enough to buy a happy meal for each
of you and a treat for your doggie :D

We hope to see you there!

I realize that there may be visa complications, but...work?

Were you hopping from city to city on your trip, or did you do a lot of camping and survival living? If the former, I'd first figure out how you're going to find and afford camping gear, food/water, transportation, and everything else needed to survive a week in the middle of a desert.

Tickets just get you past the gate, and the only thing provided are public toilets; that's it. Everything else you truck in--and out.

BBadger - we drove half way round the world in our trucks so are pretty well equipped for a couple of weeks anywhere. I appreciate your concerns, thanks.

Foxfur - Your donations gratefully accepted - hope to see you on the Playa.

Gyre - your solutions to HTML problems and 240V systems are very welcome as they are helpful, timely and unsolicited. We tried to contact organisations about volunteering for them - they were pretty interested in that but less forthcoming with assistance on the ticket front. If you have any contacts or specific ideas that could help us we would appreciate an email. In any case hope to see you on site where I may have further coding/wiring problems...

Do not take what I'm about to write in the wrong light, but if you can afford to circumnavigate the globe, why don't you just to the the main BM website and buy Will Call tickets? It's not like you're paying $320 (or whatever it is they're selling for these days) for a party; you're paying $1 for 320 parties.
