Canada Post delivery

Canada Post delivery

Postby jessdev » Sun May 08, 2011 7:45 am

I'm just wondering which method of delivery people from Canada are using. Regular Canada Post is 20$ less than the secure one, but doesn't come with tracking etc. Am I stupid to select this method? Are there any horror stories of lost tickets?

I'd definitely enquire into UPS (or equivalent, who deal with international) rates over CP anyday.

Usually it's MUCH less expensive, and way more secure.

Not to mention.....

If you're sending tickets, you definitely want to have proof that it was received.

Hubby just chimed in with: FedEx and Purolator. (i was drawing a blank on that)

If you happen to have an "in" with a company who has an account, it could be really cheap. I do this thru work sometimes, paying them the cost of having it go on the company bill ($5 rather than $20). It's worth looking into.

Hi jessdev, Welcome to the ePlaya!!

I live in Saskatchewan and had my tickets shipped with tracking the first two years. I have used WillCall the last three years. I pick up my tickets when I arrive at BRC. It is frankly a lot less hassle. All you need to do is show photo ID and they give you your ticket(s). [You would not want to drive 4 days to BRC and realize you forgot your ticket on your fridge...]

For those ePlayins who have horror stories from the past, please feel free to relate your issues. BMORG has gone through a huge effort to improve the whole process and I trust it completely.

Canada post takes over a week to send a letter from my work to my home (in the same city), i would not trust them without a tracking number...

USPS takes about 3 weeks to ship a package from San Francisco to my city. It takes about 10 days to get a USPS (with tracking #) package.

Thats my experience, your will probably be different.

"Hubby?" Do people still use that word? I thought it was exclusive to Dear Abbey columns

I'm bringing it back just in time for it to gain some popularity before your nupitals. Consider it my wedding present to you.

:D

(Congratulations, btw)

Hey everyone thanks,
Yea should've been more clear, was going to finally purchase my ticket off the site, then kinda freaked out when I saw secure shipping to Canada was an extra $30. But I guess I'll suck it up, would rather be safe than sorry.

I would use secure mail.

I have had many tickets shipped by plain envelope, but it was back in the $60 and $95 days, and burning man was mostly unknown, so theft wasn't as much of an issue.
