If your mom wants you there that badly, she needs to buy your ticket. The cost of the ticket is nothing compared to the rest of the expenses. If you don't have a grand to burn, wait.
As for sneaking in... the perimeter patrol has night vision goggles. And cars. Gate has people who Do Not Like To Be Fucked With. You will not get in. You will not be happy about it.

But, the difference lies in the distinction between gifting, where the gifter gives based on their perception of need or benefit to the recipient, and a potential recipient begging, or feeling entitled to the gift, which turns off even the most generous of gifters.
