Whatever happened to the Mad Shiter?

I haven't heard any tales of the mad shiter since there were dogs on the playa. The legend of the mad shiter was told to me long before I ever stepped foot on the playa.
Even though I personally haven't seen anyone passed out on the open playa for awhile, we still need this heroic figure. I wonder what ever became of him or her?
