Hexayurt Camp

Let's have a theme camp of hexayurts!

Might as well gather a bunch of the hexayurting knowledge in one section of the playa.

Anyone interested?

I'm based in Berkeley, San Francisco Bay Area, CA, US. I'm hoping to run some trial run hexayurt projects in a park or the backyard of a friend's house. Reply or PM me if you're interested in helping with the trial.

As a camp: Where would you want it to be? I'm personally more interested in being around 8 and E or so; that's where I had the most fun last year.

I think hexayurts fits the "evolution" theme in that they are cheap, simple to build, and small. But they do use pretty advanced materials (rigid insulation board, high strength tape)

Absolutely! I love the tunnels idea.

I was going to suggest honeycombing them to minimize the exposure to wind and then putting windows between the hexayurts.

We are building other yurts in Red Lightning Village but love the hexayurts, good luck with them! I've enjoyed many a duststorm in the hexayurts of 2006 + 2007 and will miss Vinay's wonderful lectures on their strengths and uses.
