"Barbarian" is mostly a mythical word. The "barbarians" that the Romans referred to included Goths, Celts, oh yeah those of the Persian Empire, an older civilization that Rome.
But today, this word conjures a different connotation: the Dionysian as opposed to the Apollonian (and we'll have room for both in our camp)!
