Although the Italian gentleman pictured is dressed in very rakish Summer attire, it must be noted he is wearing saddle shoes with his two-toned suit.

Seersucker suits may be worn during the Summer season with all-white bucks with red rubber soles, both at the club and aboard ship.

I believe the Summer season is Shavuot (May 28-30) to Rosh Hashanah (September 18-20). A good host is forgiving, and would not make an issue of it.
