My tootsies can only hold up to a couple hours of walking, even with special shoe inserts/supports. I do not consider myself handicapped, but then, I normally don't go somewhere like BR where there is much walking 24/7. I thought I might apply for a handicapped permit for a scooter with one of those bicycle seats on a stick.

Would that work?

Those electrics take up to six hours to charge.

This year I have an old riding lawn mower with the mower deck removed and a good muffler..

But your gimp permitt "must" come from your "doctor". Don't try to use your dead uncles permitt. The DMV is onto that kind of crap..

Also you "must" preresgister your gimp ride with Burning Man DMV. Then take it in for a inspection and a Black Rock City sticker..

If you can't follow these simple rules...The Rangers will be happy to help you remove your ride to the Black Rock city limits. And you ass with it, if you flip them any shit.

I'm currently building a 50cc powered, pedal-assisted trike that's styled like a 1920's "gray" Harley Davidson. (really, as heavy as it is, it's more pedal powered and motor-assisted) It's pretty wild looking. I'd love to bring it but I'm not sure if it needs to be registered. If so, does it cost money to register the vehicle through the DMV? If it's too much trouble, I'll just leave it at home. Sorry, OP, for capitalizing on your thread.

It is also legal for any one who is annoyed by one to set the fucking thing on fire. {Only in prescribed burning areas of course}

Some of the smaller motors on bicycles are quiter than the skooters. You can't go wrong with a small pulsejet on your bike either. Helps to teach all those ppl that bitch about noise what burningman is really about. Nothing like shootin fire out the back at night and putting a flame thrower in the front.

If you poke around you can upgrade a regular bike for less than 200 and get decent speed and fuel economy.

It's not that difficult to figure out. It's NOT the noise most people object to; it's the reckless manner they are operated and the total disregard for the safety of pedestrians and speed limits that the drivers of said scooters exhibit.
