Can Someone provide me with some insight on the Villages?

Hey there,
I'm coming from new york with a tidy group of 3 or 4 who are looking for a healthy, relaxed, organized, low key home base with some good tunes. We will be meeting another 4 or 5 people once there and are looking at the possibility of joining a village rather than a theme camp.
I've been three times before over the years, but don't have very much experience inside a village. Do they operate similar to a theme camp with an initial pay-in that entitles the use of shared facilities, kitchen, showers, etc. or are they purely a block of smaller theme camps?

Several of us will be very cool first-timers and we're not going to be able to drive with the infastructure for an elborate, comfy space ourselves but are very much looking forward to contributing to a nice collaborate spot to operate from. I spin downtempo, ethnoambient type beats and would love to contribute on that front as well as a little fruit smoothie set-up.

Villages are whatever people make of them. Some have "buy-in" for facilities, others are just groups of camps that want to be together for one reason or another. Based on what you want, there should be some camps and some villages that can fit your need, since they can be almost the same thing depending on who is organizing the specific camp or village.

My village, Gigsville, is just a bunch of people who choose to be there. It's none of the things you asked for "healthy, relaxed, organized, low key home base", but there should be many out there that fit that description.

Oh, and to the OP why not just ask what you're looking for? You need some infrastructure -- shade, cooking stuff, coolers right? You could hook up with that.

I think we're interested in getting together with others around a shade structure, cooking set-up and shower.

Decidedly not an air raid siren type vibe :) but not "quiet camp" either - maybe a little yoga in the morning to some beautiful music - chill, well organized lounge area with healthy juice and cold beverages for the hot sun. Maybe even some communal bikes we could help contribute to. Am I asking for too much?! :wink:

The Devils Workshop and Day Spa Village is going to be a collection of people working on "Crude Awakening". However, we will have a serious air raid siren. Listen for it, because shortly after you hear it, all hell will break loose. (Hint Late Friday Night) You are more than welcome to stay with us. I tried to get a 3 phase federal a while back and it came with a written warning from the police chief about using it near the town that it came from.
Of course, I was going to use it for an interior signal device.
It's good for 100 db at 100 feet omnidirectional.

I have always thought the 'Real Green Theme' was about what we do in our Home Towns. What we do each & everyday the other 51 weeks of the year that can have a significant Green advantage on and to the Planet...
