Now that’s a sex camp we should really plan to make. Personally, as one of the not beautiful people, male and almost 50, it’s really sad hearing people describe folks who come for the week and want to take a break from their mundane lives, sex lives and partners included, to re-invent and rejuvenate, and are also looking for a person to not only have sex with, but hook up with for general fun and companionship for a few days described in all sorts of semi-creepy, we don’t want no stinking ugly-mans around here kinds of terms.

Let’s start a mature sex camp. Sorry, your under forty and too sexually repressed for us, into having fun, leaving the drama behind, kindness, sensuality without judgment, already know who we are and just want some freedom for a week sort of camp.

Personally my fantasy isn’t banging some drunk chicklett in a bar or a sleeping bag and running off. It’s more like meeting a mature woman, hanging out, having some laughs, giving comfort and pleasure, massages, positive experiences, sharing a small part of our lives, enjoying BM through each other’s eyes, and going home with memories and a smile people can wonder about during the rest of the year.

There are camps out there that don't discriminate about age. There's some of us that know all too well the reality of a play party full of young pretty people. Everyone stands around all night looking pretty while a handful of girls tease the boys with their pole tricks. It's a RARE site to see something like a foursome or moresome in the corner or sex at all. My wife and I have found that people our age (35) and older are the ones who take action. The older generation is always the ones in the orgy room first. That's not to say that there are not younger people out there that participate. However, all the swing clubs we've gone to, the crowd's average age is 35-45. We actually feel like the youngins.

Appearance is a big issue as physical interest plays a big part in both men's and women's libido. But appearance isn't all about weight, moreso how one presents themselves. Does someone look like they care about how they look? Or do they look like they just crawled out of bed and threw on whatever they found in the hamper? Did they brush their teeth? Do they smell nice or foul? My wife and I stick with couples with attributes similar to ourselves, fairly fit, average looks, proper fashion and outgoing personalities.

For the single guys, there's a lot of square miles of playa with lots of women. Find one and bring her to one of these camps. Have fun. Once in a couples only camp you'll learn why they don't let in tons of single guys. I mean, look what happened to Stiff Lube camp. No girls showed up and it turned into a circle jerk and they all left gay! (That's a flippin joke people! I run a pansexual camp) I'm actually wondering if they'll let me AND my wife in!

For those that want to actually learn about the lifestyle and other sex related things look on the calendar closer to the burn for lectures hosted by Libido Lounge and possibly "...and then there's only LOVE". These lectures are also a great way to meet people, get to know them and possibly get invited to the play parties. Showing up drunk at 2am is not the way for a single guy to get in.

I'm working with Rat Bastard in trying to organize this thing. (I never realized that I was a masochist before, but I digress...) We really want to create a space that is sex and sexuality positive - for folks to come and burn off some of that tremendous excitement that builds from being in this incredible place. But we want to do it well, so any experience or practical advice is helpful. That said, we've organized stuff like that in the past - but never hurts to get input from others. I learn that I don't know so much as I thought I did.

In dealing w/ BRC Rangers in the past, I've found its best to explain what you're doing, what precautions you're taking to make sure everyone is safe, of required age, and everything is consensual.

We did this thing a couple years ago, where my partner was staked to the ground, and we invited passerby's to "leave their baggage" in the form of writing/drawing on her with colored markers or tempra paints. It was a hoot - and in large part, it worked because I made it a point to talk w/ the BRC Rangers and explain what was going on. They in turn handled the question that the BLM guys had. Lots of people (not least of all my partner!) had a blast.

So, obviously, we do need some sort of security plan (check ID's, invites, etc.; ways to monitor activities to keep things from getting too unruly (ie, non-consensual/scary; etc.) We plan on having "party-hosts" who's main job is to circulate, help break the ice, explain the rules, and provide tours. We'll provide supplies, and make sure people understand that they need to bring some of their own, too. I'm looking for things we may have missed.

Does anyone have any additional recommendations / specific ideas along these lines for making this work in the unique environment that is BRC?

I was involved with the vortex casino in 04 and 05, both as part of security and as a dealer. I was left with several impressions. You do need someone or several someone’s that can tactfully offer screening and security, as well as be able to be enough of a presence to deter the inevitable intoxicated, inappropriate, and insistent persons who present themselves. You need experienced people to do this so feelings do not get hurt or tempers roused.

The rangers are no problem. We were a prominent sex casino on the esplanade. The camp needs to have no viewable private areas from the outside, and access control so that people can’t wander in. This prevents children from being exposed to sexual content. You will have people poking around the edges of the camp trying to find a way in even after you say “noâ€

Well, we've spent so much time arguing about sex and so little time doing it, that the sun's come up and the party has moved on. ;-)

As of today, Saturday July 14th, there are 45 days until the gates open and 49 days until The Man Burns!!

And BORG has even thoughtfully arranged a "Welcoming Night Full Lunar Eclipse"! OK, just kidding about BORG arranging it, but there WILL be a full lunar eclipse Monday night - Tuesday morning. I know that the time is getting tight, and there's SO MUCH left to do to get ready - but damn if I'm not excited as all get out! Yes, just a few more weeks!

So it looks like the redlight district is over near 9:00... at least we're in that vicinity.

Just wanted to recap on this whole sex camp thing. Did topknot ever do one? We did. "Libido Lounge". It was a great success being it's first year. During the night of the party we had two preppy lookin guys show up. I told them simply, "It's couples only, go find a date". They never came back.

So the answer is YES. There are sex camps out there. But none of us can afford the neon lights on a 40' pole to mark out location. Maybe next year!
